I got extremely lucky catching this hawk in my backyard. Several house sparrows were busy at the feeder and all of a sudden there was dead silence. I looked up and there it was checking things out.

This is my first shot of a gray cat bird this year. I know they have been around because I can hear their cat-like mew sounds when I am in the blind. They tend to be very shy and "flighty" but they will come to the feeders for the right food.8.8.12
A sacred ibis drinking.

This black-capped night heron was fishing from this buoy. Clever, huh?

Anyone know what kind of bird this? Would appreciate it if you know.
The blue jay at the bottom is a young bird, just hatched this spring. i'm guessing, but I think the top bird is his mamma. She is always with him when he visits my feeder. 6.16.12
I have had a lot of blue jay activity at the feeder this week. It seems they are all competing with one another. This one is letting the other jays know this is his perch.6.15.12

I never expected to see a pair of scissor-tailed flycatchers in Missouri, but that's where I photographed this one. The mate was on the same barbed wire fence. I'm guessing the drought in Texas has forced them to migrate north.
This red-bellied woodpecker is a regular at my feeders. He is a fan of my homemade peanut butter suet. View in large size to get a good look at his long tongue.
