you know it's springtime when you see this at the local body of water.
Happy to have a brown thrasher coming to the feeders in the back.

Finally a decent cardinal photo. It is harder than you think to get a shot just the way you want.
Snagged this shot on the side of the road. Thanks to the powers that be.

Black-bellied whistling ducks in South Texas
I believe this is an ibis, correct me if I'm wrong. Taken on the new boardwalk in South Padre Island, TX Spring 2012. Processed with a texture from Kim Klassen.
A hummer from this past summer. Edited with a texture overlay.
A hummingbird taking a minute to air out his feathers.

I have quite a few blue jays coming to my feeders for peanuts. Male and female blue jays look alike, but if I was to guess I would say this is definitely a female. There is just something feminine about it.
Great blue heron edited with Topaz Simplify 4 to give it a "painterly effect." The focus was not perfect but I really liked the image overall.
A Philadelphia vireo taken at Horseshoe Lake in Illinois. This was taken on a very wet and dreary day and hence a lot of noise to contend with. I sure wish I had one of those high-dollar Canon cameras.
Finally spotted some turkeys. I saw 3 toms along some trees at Frank Holten State Park in East St. Louis, IL. They didn't let me get very close and it was a dreary day, so I had a lot of noise, but overall I was tickled just to see them. 9.21.12
